The idea of a Nietzschean becoming a father. Almost as ridiculous as the idea of a childless Hegelian —

Religion is burned into the father by the eyes of the child. The sins of the father are his, but the idea of the sins of the father, this — the origin of the religion — belongs to the child. More specifically, to the child’s eyes.¹
