The first fifty minutes silent, just people hanging around, sunlight filtering through leaves, the actors lounging around, sipping cold water from clay vessels, etc. But one among them appears increasingly preoccupied. The atmosphere slowly tightens; it becomes apparent that he is about to invent language, to speak for the first time. His mouth begins to move, to shake almost, the first word has suddenly become imaginable (to him, not to the audience), he clears his throat, he looks this way and that, he just has to translate it into sound somehow. Finally he opens his mouth and says it, the first word, its meaning clear and perfect. All the other actors die.
